Remember trek computer can read brain waves, they'd sense what you want.

Well, the ship does monitor everyone's brains all the time (VOY), so I guess that's possible.

If I could fix one thing it would be the damn nacelle pylons / struts. They look weak and rubbery like what you get when you draw a human arm without thinking about the bone structure underneath. I don't mind the GC overall but those pylons have always bugged me.

I like the quote Granite had around here.

I think it was bit ugly as well, but I also can't help but feel that part of our conceptions are due to the ship looking unwieldy or unbalanced when confronted with gravity. It's a natural paradigm for us, but a GCS would never have to deal with it.

Unless it gets attacked by a BoP and crashes into a planet.

True enough - but in that case, I don't think being better-balanced front to back would help too much.

It's possible to have non-aerodynamic ships that still look nice. B5 has plenty of examples of that.
My problem with the GCS is not only that it just looks hideous, but that it's design is moronic.

Indeed. The Minbari Cruisers weren't aerodynamic and they were beautiful. The EA Omega class, while not exactly beautiful, still looked good.

B5 I think was just a better show the Trek. The writers put THOUGHT into what they were doing.

I loved so many of the B5 designs! And the Omegas were ugly as sin, but A-10 Warthog ugly, like they meant business. It was a harsh design that sacrificed grace for utility and that appeals to me.

I like the Mimbari fish, the Narn wedges (I especially loved the pain design on them), the Centauri crescents. Very elegant designs in their own way. The Shadow vessels looked very menacing with their black on black texture and spines, and the Vorlons looked very organic and cool.

And I especially loved the designs of The Old Ones' various ships! When they made their collective appearance in the climactic season four battle that was just a very, very cool moment.
