I'm nowhere near as immersed in the SW lore or EU as the rest of you guys, but I agree with you too Striker. Qui-gon seemed to be more interested in actually being a Jedi. The rest, by contrast, seemed "bureaucratized Jedi."

Okay, seriously, cool. Thanks, dude. Yes, the Iron Knights rule.

Thanks. Yeah, he went out to Naboo, rescued people and died fighting the Sith while Yoda and the Council sat on their butts and denied Anakin training because he was all of ten friggin' years old.

RULES AND REGULATIONS! RULES AND REGULATIONS! Yeah, the Jedi seemed to be suffering from the same weighted down inability to act that the republic in general was.

OK, I voted for the Breen here. The CU just got its hindside handed to them not by one race but by three. Most of the others are about as powerful as my toilet leftovers. The Breen came out of the war without suffering to many losses and most likely without any of their home worlds taking any hurts. We only saw their Frigate design but with most of their overall production intact it wouldn't surprise me if they began to look to newer and more powerful classes of ship.

We dont know about the loses of the Breen during the war. Chances are they would have to surrender their fleet and lose territory.

We don't even know how powerful the Breen were to begin with. Really, once their dampning field went down their ships were taken down pretty easily. Also, I don't recalll any indication of them ever being that big or influential.

True, but its a big ju,p to go from "respected" to "fourth most powerful faction".

I think they were respected/feared as individuals, because of their rumored ruthlessness, and were a consideration as a power because of their unknown strength and abilities; but once those were known and the dampening weapon was defeated I don't think they were considered a deal-breaker either way.

As a civilisation they were feared. Remember how the Klingons sent a fleet that got destroyed with no word.

Lets also remember that we really don't have much to pick from. Just because you're the forth rated power doesn't mean you're really that powerful.
