Try breeding a dog&cat and see how far that goes.
I tried when I was little with my Dog and a neighbours cat... didnt really work.

Seafort - are you sure? I'm certainly no Aryan language scholar but I was pretty sure that use of the indefinitie article indicated a common noun.

I think technically "Ich bin Berliner" is the correct term, but Berliners always use "Ich bin ein Berliner". As I said, if you want to know why you'd have to ask a German.
