Ah, gotcha. This is way convoluted but, maybe he's doing all this just to get those Pykes and destroy them for killing his tribe? I don't know. I know in the former canon, Boba was rebuilding the Mandalorians clans a decade and a half after ROTJ, but I don't remember if he ever become a crime lord.
No, he didn't. And that's a good theory about the Pykes. The execution of it, along with the show... I've heard people say this should've been called, 'Tales of Tatooine' or something like that, and yeah. That would've been
far better!
Tales of Tatooine that pays off in a Boba Fett wiping out the Pykes who killed his tribe? Nice! Imagine we get an episode of that casino run by Jennifer Beals, an episode of the teens, an episode of the Mayor because I love that Mayor's Aide guy, an episode of the other crime lords going through their own problems in the wake of Jabba's fall. So after we spend time getting to know the casino characters, show that they are kind of like us, only to watch them all blow up in that last episode. It would have had an impact as the bad guys destroyed a thriving community that was familiar to us. Some of the teens get taken out too. The Aide is killed off-screen. Then the penultimate episode shows us a flashback of the tribe being found dead, and Boba doing some detective work tracking down and taking out those bikers, only to discover it was the Pykes all along, leading into this final episode showdown.
I like what you said about
Tales of Tatooine. Tatooine might as well be a character in this universe. The most visited planet in the saga. It was even in the Knights of the Old Republic video game! A game set 4,000 years previously had Tatooine as a featured world. I imagine with the upcoming Obi-Wan series, we'll be returning to Tatooine.
