I've often wondered about that myself. But then I thought, why can't Voyager replicate new torpedos, and just draw anti matter from the core? Not feasable in a firefight, but afterwards with enough time, they could have completely reloaded their torp magazine. Anybody think of a reason that wouldn't work?Mikey wrote:I think we can safely assume that Akiras have significantly lower top speed than Intrepids. As far as the ability to defend itself... would this hypothetical Akira have the magically-replenishing torpedoes that Voyager had?

I don't see why not, save for the fact that modt folks on the show seemed to act as if they weren't replicatable. Perhaps the guidance systems or other high-tech components couldn't be replicated?

Re: Voyager What if...?
To save time, if I was stuck in the Delta Quadrant, I'd want to be commanding a Promethus class ship. Would have kicked the tail off of the Kazon, Vidians, Hirogen, and Voth. Only thing would have made me pause would have been the Borg. BUT, if an Intrepid class starship could do it, a Prommie could do it better, faster, and cleaner.

Um the Voth are one of the most echnolgically advanced races in the Delta Quatrant. Federation tech doesn't compare to them at all, even in the Prometheus.

Voyager fared pretty well, didn't they?

I think that' specifically is what SSM12 was referring to. There is no Fed ship capable of doing that.Mark wrote:Would have kicked the tail off of the...Voth.

They were transported into the city ship, all their weapons were neutralized. They didn't do pretty well. If not for Gegan...they'd have died.Mark wrote:Voyager fared pretty well, didn't they?

I think the best question to ask is:
If you got stuck in the DQ what Federation ship would you wish to be in?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

A Sovereign-class battlecruiser.
High Speed, powerful weapons, impressive shields and sensors. Overall, powerful.

There is not a problem in this world that can't be solved without the proper application of a sufficient number of thermonuclear ordnance.

Agreed. That's the best ship to be in for this scenario, IMO.

I'd go Nebula, while the Soverign is powerful it doesnt look as comfortable. The Nebula is powerful and a nice ship to live on for 70 years.

The quarters we saw on the E-E seemed pretty nice. And I don't think we got any idea of the Nebula's interior design.

Well the Nebula seems to be based heavily off the GCS.

Which means you get the extra cupholders standard, along with the heated seats and hot tubs in all quarters.Teaos wrote:Well the Nebula seems to be based heavily off the GCS.
