But that's not what I meant. I was referring to two people's reference to me with a German greeting sometimes used by the Nazis juxtaposed with my ancestry's um... rocky relationship with the Nazi party.

They could, but at that point they'd be so close as to not need the probe to find us. That probe has been flying for 30+ years and is only now leaving the outer edges of our solar system. It'll be tens of thousands of years before it reaches anything interesting, if at all.
