Exactly. SG invented some fantasy mineral to power most of the tech, for example; but the lack of more detail doesn't get in the way - whereas more detail could get in the way.

Indeed. Some vague handwavium every now and again is alright.

Precisely, there's a fine line to be drawn.

Oh, and back to the OP's question. Forget her stupidity in the pilot. Go watch Parallax, episode number 2. She's a know it bitch who happily humiliates her crew in front of each other and considers a temperamental, violent, academy washout for chief engineer.

I'm probably in the minority of people who liked Capt. Janeway & Voyager but she was definitely a "Do what I say, not what I do" kind of Captain, which was fun sometimes when she would tell someone off for doing something then turn around and say the hell with it and do it herself. Hmm maybe coming from a science background made her a little more mental about proving herself.

Over all I like VOY, doesnt mean I cant point out the retarded moments.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

They're sort of hard to miss.

If I seem harsh its because I watched Parallax a couple days ago. That episode sucked ass. It was like Voyager was trying hard to hit a lowpoint immediately.

No, but that's an easy mistake. That was just the plot sucking hard enough to be mistaken for a black hole.

Anyone who loves VOY must've missed DS9 entirely.
