Yep, pretty much the best way to run that thing... it also puts out stupid levels of damage with the turret rapid fire ability.
Absolutely, with target lock maxed out you get a 22% chance that each shot will crit. With plasma that means you get the DoT bonus. I have a quad combo I use every time. Target, turret, cannon and powe boost. Which puts me at 125 for all four weapons. Followed with a turn away volley of QTs with high yeild 3 maxed out. It's delightful.

Nice power, my issue is BoPs tend to go snap crackle and pop if someone sneezes around them.

True, but if I rush a battleship and park next to him, I can crash his shields. Then my core breach leaves them a smoking wreck. Trading an escort for a battleship is a good trade.

The key with any fight is to make your enemy pay more then they can afford. So I make them pay, worked well in the sims and it worked well for STO.

I just hit 30 on my new Klingon Character and got my Raptor. 2 plasma turrets and 3 dual plasma cannons with a 41% bonus to plasma weapons by console and two cannon boost skills. I can deal about 1400 damage per second not counting my QTL and its four round burst with High Yield III. I'm killing battleships now with a raptor in head on fights.

Throw a plasma torpedo tube instead of the QT.

Thought about it but its too slow and with cannons I prefer to stay at range where my fire arc isn't so badly effected. I only close range if its a ship I know is going to kill me and I'm just looking to take it with me when I go boom.

So I have finished the Romulan arc which was fucking hard, a few times I considered going off to level up and get some gear at SB24 runs but I managed to power through it.

Now I have got half way through the Cardassian arc in 2 days. It is piss easy. the Dominion ships go snap crackle and pop when I look at them and the Cardassians have good shields and armor but are weak in weapons. And they have this lovely habbit of standing in groups so 2 grenades and 3 AOE attacks can usally take out a whole group.

I should start running story mode since I hit 50. Now my level gear will earn me a lot of nice EC.

I link that I did it at lower levels, it made it more of a challenge and taught me how to use techniques and abilites.

Maybe you should run them on hard? make it more of a challenge and maybe get some decent gear.

Any suggestions on dealing with the Scimitar then? I can't get past it in the one Romulan mission.

Come in on the side, lock on tractor, pound away at it with as many forward facing Torpedoes as you can slap on and stay in close so that if you go you take it with you, might even consider going self destruct. I managed it on just doing damage but I added every damage + buff I could and switched all my weapons to Torpedoes and turrets so I could pound it.

In and out strikes also work, set your buffs off at once and fly in. Slam as hard as you can from one side and then boost out. Let your buffs recharge and do it again.
