That could work, too. Gives it a slightly alternate or exotic feel.

Ya, now if only we could get a good name. It's still tied between Starbolt's Pride and other.

Well, the 'other' votes are for:
Dauntless, from JudgeKing.
Some mythological name, from Mikey.
And I have no idea what the third vote was for, unless it was for one of them.

So we're still sorta split between them.

I think I'm narrowing down my nomination from "some mythological name" to "Chimera." I think it fits the cobbled-together nature of the ship.

And "Jormungandir" is too unwieldy, and nobody knows who or what "Garuda" or a "manitcore" is.

Manticore is a sphinx-like creature. It has the body of a red lion, a human head with three rows of sharp teeth, and a trumpet-like voice. It's tail is often discribed as a dragon or scorpian type tail that that shoots spines to paralyze or kill its victims right?

It was also the name of the military project/facility in Dark Angel that created super soldiers. I used to watch that show as a kid.

Yup, you're right.
And, IIRC, a Garuda is a bird-thing that Vishnu uses as a mount, right?

OK, so you do know. Garuda has also been referred to in its own right as the lord of birds.

I forgot "Fenris," too, but I still think I like Chimera. Or "Dybbuk," but I don't think we have any elderly Eastern European Jewish women aboard.

Chimera is pretty good, I think.

the little gray aliens from Stargate SG-1?

I think he meant the original use of 'Asgard', which is the Norse city of the gods.

Is there a TV show with little grey aliens named after Norse mythology? They should have been called the Niebelungs, obviously.

Yeah, the Stargate series has an advanced race of aliens called the Asguard. Note the difference in spelling.

In Stargate, they were the Norse gods.

Yeah, I know. Hence one being Thor.
