Well the Vorta are going to be the ones leading the Dominion once the Founders finish dying off so... its a very important factor.

The secret Section 31 agency (which is apparently behind much of the Federation's success), engineered a virus to wipe them out. In the later stages of the war, the Founders were only a few weeks from dying.

Remember; deploying a bioweapon isn't exactly a trivial matter. First you have to actualy infect one of them, then you have to ensure it meets with more of its kind. If the Founders get smart and stay on their side of the wormhole, or order a handful through with explicit instructions not to return until the UFP is crushed, then it simply isn't going to work.

They infected Odo before the war even started so the virus is going to be in play. The best thing the founders can do is try to find someone who hasn't taken in the virus and have them set up government elsewhere. If they are lucky then a few will survive.
