Not a fan of Heroes, I gather. He's possibly the best actor on the show.

Now that I look at it again, that bridge does remind me of the men's rooms in some high-end Manhattan restaurants.

One time when I was in Ireland, I used the bathroom at a McDonald's, and they had this awesome thing where it would put soap on your hands, turn the water on and then dry your hands without requiring you to touch anything.

Notice the "reading light" looking things on Uhura's console. That my friends is a direct nod to Pike's quarters in The Cage. Check it out.

Either that, or the alien war machines from the 1953 War of the Worlds. :)

Personally, the first time I saw the original "The Cage" episode by itself, I was blown away by the quality of the ship sets, uniforms, and plot. I still think it was better than the rest of TOS (anyone have a screenshot of the bridge from "The Cage"?).

Except for super emotional Spock. And the all-white cast. I haven't a clue why they changed the bridge layout, subdued color palette, or uniforms, though.

I think my favorite bit of gear from "The Cage" was the doctor's portable bartender kit.

I've heard of it, no idea what it's about though.

Probably because when the pilot got rejected, they took everything apart and then had to redo it when it was reshot. I do like The Cage set and everything, except the uniforms lack of rank.

I wasn't a fan of the turtleneck look, personally. And the lasers were downright ugly.

I thought the sidearms in ENT should have looked like that - chunky, not too sleek, relatively primitive-looking; much like the Kazon hand weapons in VOY.

I agree. They should have looked like they were a more primitive version.
Then again, you could say the same thing about every freaking thing in the series.
