My New Year's resolution is to write at least 1 page a day for one of my stories. At that rate, I could have several short stories done and out by the end of the year, or one fairly short novel.

If someone notices in themselves something that is a personality flaw, or something they would like to change (like quitting smoking), they should do it, not wait for "New Year's" to make a resolution. Of course I have so many bad habits, one day wouldn't cover them.
That's a good point, but on the other hand it can be good for some to have a time laid out to focus on needed changes lest no attempts are ever made! How many people might never try to (e.g.) quit smoking if there weren't this time set aside to start anew.
You make a good point too.

My mom calls me, she figured I would be home on New Year's Day. She tells me, I did an old lady thing(she's 78), I fell and twisted my knee. As the conversation progresses she tells me when she fell and twisted her knee it hurt so she started crying. My dad comes in to help her and says, "Why didn't you yell, 'I've fallen and I can't get up!'?"

Put a deposit down on a new(er) bike yesterday :) Mine is really not very healthy any longer (as well as being quite uncomfortable to ride) so I've gone for something purposely designed for comfort and commuting. Only one owner in its life and with a mountain of service paperwork. Can't wait to pick it up!

Good luck with it, Reliant. :) Hope it's a smooth, or at least smoother ride than before. ;)

We were supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow. We got... a dusting. I'm not complaining, mind. ;)

I read a post about Jim going to the gym. ;) It's also bitter cold here.

Here too. Woke up to single-digit temperatures. I wasn't built for that.
