The Canadian channel Space occasionally shows it.

They should shut them down. ;)

I voted for the old one. I tried watching the new series... but it didn't grab mye like the classic BSG did. The opening alone of the old one is enough for me to vote for it.

This has to be one of the most one-sided polls I've ever made. :)

Out of curiosity, why did you put 1980 up there in the first place? It's not as if it's going to get votes (at least, I'd hope not...).

I suppose it was done in the interest of fairness. :)

As for the old vs. new, Edward James Olmos has said repeatedly that if you liked the original, don't watch the new one. I think he's tired of getting nasty letters. :D

I put 1980 in there simply to have the whole lot in there.
I could have guessed no one would vote for it. :)

Galactica 1980 had 'Return of Starbuck', pretty much the only watchable episode from it... and it was pretty darned good, too.

Hope this isn't thread necromancy. The new series is so much better than the old that it makes the old series look like it was done by a pack of amatuers in comparison. I mean a casino planet and cowboy planet? Although I actually stopped watching season III halfway through when the Apollo-Starbuck angst got to be too much, here's hoping that season IV and the Razor telemovie return us to the previous seasons quality.

I've watched Galactica:1980 on the Space Channel and the less said about that abortion the better.

I must say, I sincerely prefer the new series.

The old was... well, typically a 1970's scifi movie and series... I always think it is ridiculous every time I have seen it. The new is more nuanced and... I guess it feels more real in a way, also.

I also enjoy the new series more than the old, but I will grant that the old series had more light hearted moments than the new one.

Also who voted for 1980?

I've already mentioned my preference, but I have to say that "Razor" certainly made me feel better about the new series. Any comments to reply to the "Razor" thread?

I remember seeing some reruns of the original one when I was young. I eyed it and went 'Wow, they liked how much money Star Wars made, didn't they?'
