"Take a ball from a musket between the eyes and you're just as dead as if it'd been a melta," Johan muttered. "Sir, we're going to be hanging way out there, any chance of air support on this?"

"The garrison has four Valkyrie's and a cargo lifter at it's disposal. If we're very lucky and they slap some drop tanks on the Valks, we might get a flyby with their guns."

He shakes his head, "the frakkers at Garrison Command are...reluctant to risk their air assets. Apparently the cogboys at the research post want them around for some reason and have been raising merry hell about it."

"Lovely, so we're gonna be hanging out asses out there without any back up?" Johan shook his head. "Is they why they were going to be sending the Russ with us sir?"

"It was, it's also why you all got the hunter-killers. We're just going to have to hope they and our multi-melta take up some of the slack."
