A badly beat up USS Equinox returns to Federation space with a hell of a story.

the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,
and walk like Frankenstein.

Yeah, the 8472-intentions debate is one that I don't need to revisit.

Other than that, not much would be affected by Voyager's absence. The Hirogen would have to continue to expand their territory, but that's what they were doing anyway. The Kazon would still have been the backwards hicks of the quadrant. The Ocampa... well, it wouldn't really matter, because the Ocampan biology seems to have evolved itself in such a way as to guarantee the extinction of the species.

I'll feel happy if I just get the counter-argument to Kess's comment (after the telepathic connection with S-8472 was established), "your galaxy will be purged."

Based on that, I thought their intentions were pretty clear, but if I just hear why I'm wrong, I won't pursue it any more. I promise!

Look up the old 8472 thread. It'll be in there.

Long story short, we think the pilot was just f*cking with Kes' mind or trying to intimidate her. For a telepathic race, such things would be quite normal in war.

Now let's not go through that debate again.

The debate revolves around Myself and other taking the agressive nature and the quotes as 8472 wanting to destroy everything.

Rochey and other think it was just the Borg.

Debate went in circles...

That pretty much sums it all up. Both sides had evidence for their case, but neither were they adequately able to disprove their oponents' points. It ended up as a massive stalemate with us basicaly saying the same thing every two or three posts.
Hence why it's one of the Forbidden Topics that must not be discussed.

Don't forget the whole idea of multi-purpose ships.

So, here's the list as of now:
8472's intentions.
Civillians on ships: good idea or bad?
MVAM: useful or waste of space?
Borg KE shields.
Starfleet: soldiers or scientists?
Jack-of-all-trades ships.
