That and one would think they'd have a chase ship in case things go pear shaped.Tyyr wrote:Since it's referred to as a testbed I'd assume its so the ship has something to fall back on if the ring nacelle doesn't work out. Though since the Vulcans have apparently used them for a while I don't see the purpose.

Just looks to much like the artist is trying to incorporate ENT era tech into "TNG" era ships

Both ships are made by the same author so i liked the test bed idea but loking at the dates i see something wrong, the test bed has later launch date.Tyyr wrote:Since it's referred to as a testbed I'd assume its so the ship has something to fall back on if the ring nacelle doesn't work out. There is not a problem in this world that can't be solved without the proper application of a sufficient number of thermonuclear ordnance.

I like that Runabout a lot, very original, but very good...

It's pretty slick and it looks like a space ship rather then a bus with bits of sprue stuck on willy nilly..

I'm not overly keen on the spherical nacelle design, however it is a very original and starship like design. i like it. I think it would be better served by a pair of close to the hull nacelles (like the Defiant's) or maybe a quartet of them. But thats purely my opinion.

Yes, maybe like Data's ship from Insurrction.Reliant121 wrote:I'm not overly keen on the spherical nacelle design, however it is a very original and starship like design. i like it. I would like to see other angles and some spects so we can judge better.

Re: Best Fan-Ships
If it had conformal nacelles I'd like it. Even if you say its using Vulcan style warp nacelles they're still oriented the wrong direction.
Re: Best Fan-Ships
I don't know.......I'm not feeling it so much, but if you asked me I couldn't tell you why.

All the attempts that I've seen to make a refit JJprise look rather bad to me. Maybe the JJprise is just so awesome IU that it won't need a major refit.JudgeKing wrote:The JJPrise TMP refit by BCC user Farshot

Re: Best Fan-Ships
I don't think the TMP-style grilles work well with the rounded nacelles - in fact, all the refitted features look to me like they were tacked on as an afterthought. If a major refit were going to be a part of the new timeline, I think it would have made more sense to start off with more of a TOS-styled ship and make the one we saw the refit version.Tyyr wrote:I think that's a pretty decent interpretation of the refit JJ-prise.
Now for a really awesome fan ship, some guy made a JJprise-styled Sovereign.
