Well, depending on how the enlisted ranks were incorportated and the posting requirement for them, I don't think it would effect things TOO much. Say a promotion every 200 posts till you become an officer, and then up from there. Just an idea. It wouldn't effect the Admiralty too much, but it would cost us Commanders and such some pips.

Just a thought

Current ranks go like this:

Ensign=0
Lieutenant jg=200
Lieutenant=400
Lieutenant Commander=800
Commander=1200
Captain=1800
Rear Admiral=4000
2 Star Admiral=7000
3 Star Admiral=10000
4 Star Admiral=?
5 Star Admiral=?

So you can see trying to fit several enlisted ranks in at 200 a piece would drop every one down at least a rank, even more for those on the bottom of the scale.

We could have a vote on it and see if everyone would be willing to do it, I think it would be a neat idea and wouldnt mind dropping a rank. After all everyone would be dropping ranks and the people near each other would drop the same amount.

Would be fun to see lower ranks. Even put a really small gap between the first and second rank. Like 50 posts to encourage new members to get into it.

I wouldn't really mind. My rank would still be the highest around. :P

I'm interested in seeing the enlisted ranks. I also like the idea of spacing them close together. I'm all about instant gratification!

I'd be willing to drop a few ranks as well. It will sound funny, put each promotion gives a small sense of accomplishment. Besides, at the rate I'm going, how long would it take me to make up the rank?????? :mrgreen:

Honestly, I would like to be a permanent NCO. I can be the one guy in the crew.

Hey, there doesn't seem to exist a great number of enlisted men in the real Starfleet, either (aside from one curly-haired Irishman) :P

Well to be fair the show is centered around the senior officers so we wouldnt see the crew that often, but when we do they all appear to be officers
