Ep Discussion: SG1 1.15 "Singularity"

Stargate: SG-1
"Singularity"

A good episode for Carter, this one. We meet Cassandra, whom we'll hear about a number of times throughout the series. Though, we'll only actually see her three more times. And, only one of those times will she be played by Katie Stuart, who, by the way, does a great job as the only survivor of a civilization. You just can't help but to feel her loneliness--especially when she draws that picture of herself among a field of dead bodies.

We also meet Nirrti, though we don't actually see her in this episode. And, I do believe this episode gives us our first glimpse at the Ha'tak-class ships.

A few good O'Neill moments: when he and Teal'c wait for the singularity to happen and he tries to explain to Teal'c what a black hole is. Then, at the end when he gives Cassandra a dog, saying, "Every kid must have a dog." Then, Cassandra repeats the line to Carter. I love the silent laugh Carter gives O'Neill.
