Didnt they only start that after a few death traps?
Nope - artillery preparation was standard practice from the start. By the time of the Somme they were integrating a MG barrage into the preparations, and using a lifting barrage during the attack. By the time of Passchendael the creeping barrage had replaced the lifting one, and divisional artillery was being held back to support any attacks that ran into trouble.

What if you scream and advance? Is that a tactic?

It's A tactic, yes. A good one, no.

Screaming helps in a sword fight, not when it comes to guns.

What works most in a gun fight is to have a better gun then the guy you are trying to kill.

The trick to surviving a gun fight? Don't get shot. Stealth would serve ALOT better.

Or a battleship to their rifle comes to my mind. Close air support and a rapid fire weapon would be good to.

Like I've said before, Garak had it right. Shoot them in the back; it's the safest way, isn't it?

Safest way is to get someone else to do it for you.
