I think she's a gooden. and having 2-3 means you can deploy quite widespread, but consolidate them for big time crises

Re: UCS Apollo
If it were 2 or 3 I could accept it. But remember the cube law... a ship three times the length isn't three times the size, it's 27 times the size.
And hospital ships are unarmed, so they need escorts. If you are going to have to have a whole fleet of them along then you tie down a whole slew of Frigates or Destroyers to take care of them.
I'm working up a triple scaled version now. When it's done I'll see how the numbers come out and what seems a better fit to the requirements...

Re: UCS Apollo
Nice. I'm not sure why, but the enlarged version looks more graceful than the smaller one, despite having almost exactly the same design. Wierd. It might be the relative scale of the lifepods and fast reaction boats that's doing it.

I looks really nice. Beutiful.

And it's made in Switzerland! Seriously, though, I like it. Good looking ship.

Seriously, though, I agree with Seafort - the relative size of the ship to the auxiliary craft give it a little more gravity.

Re: UCS Apollo
Some stats :
Length : 2780 m
Beam : 446 m
Height : 433 m (108 decks)
Boats : 24 person medical transports; Internal, 8,901 Quick launch, 648
Escape pods : 28 person pods x 6,718
Sustainable personnel transfer rate : 35,604 persons per hour (internal boats only, 4 sorties per day)
Single launch evacuation capacity : 417,280
Hospital beds onboard : 360,000
A view showing the upper boat deck. At this scale it's not clear, but it holds 1,287 craft. There's a hangar below each boat deck that holds a further 1,680 craft. This may seem excessive but actually it's not; there are lanes to move them around freely, and each boat deck is connected to its hangar by 22 elevators. I haven't drawn it in yet but there will be spaces forward of the boat deck and hangars for maintanence and support bays, and you can see that there is a good deal of room below them for fuel and further support areas as well as habitation for the crew.
