Starbase 84
Is Starbase 84 of the type seen in Star Trek III, or is it the larger Starbase 74 type seen in 11001001, or could it have been both, one built to replace the other?

Given the USS Enterprise-D was docked there, it can only be the 74 type by the 2360's as the Galaxy class is too large for the doors of the earlier type. Whether or not it was previously the smaller version and replaced is up to you, as it no other established canonical history.
If starbases are numbered sequentially, which seems reasonable, then logically there was a pre-74 type starbase, but that could have simply been a ground-based installation, or an orbital installation.
