Star Trek : Picard

Post by IanKennedy »

Just to repeat what I have just added to the what's new on the main site:
Just an update for those that have asked. The site will continue, we are not about to close down and everything we have available will remain available. This includes the main site and the forum.

I will also endeavour to update the site as best I can. For example I have recently added all the missing people entries from Star Trek : Beyond. I also added a battle entry and updated weapons pages. It remains to be seen if I can keep the quality of the site the same. I'm a fairly decent technical writer, but my spelling is awful. I also don't have the flair for prose that Graham had.

In terms of the future Graham and I discussed adding Star Trek : Picard to the site. We came down on the side of more likely than not. So that will be my first big challenge. I'll likely start by adding the episode reviews and then star working on updating people, ships, weapon entries etc.

I was wondering about this.

As far as the writing, can I suggest using one of the forum members as a editor? Spellchecker, grammar etc? Maybe not have access to the site but use him/her through email to review and edit anything you will put on the site?

I am not nominating myself. My engloosh no so good.

As you k ow my spelling is... trash, but I am sure the forum members would be happy to beta test material for you.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

This was crossing my mind, too. Thanks for the update. If I can help with editing and spell-checking, give me a holler.

I have two types of English, good and bad... though mostly bad.

We are worse than the Borg. We are the Kennedy’s. At least we were.

The Borg are Eternal.
Respectfully Ian, I disagree.

SEVEN: The Borg have no concept of an afterlife. However, when a drone is deactivated, its memories continue to reside in the Collective's consciousness. As long as the hive exists, so will a part of that drone.
TORRES: You don't seem to take much comfort in that.
SEVEN: My link to the Collective has been severed for nearly four years. If I die, everything that I have accomplished in that time, everything I achieved as an individual, will be lost. My memories, my experiences. It will be as if they, as if I never existed.
TORRES: I think you're a little more memorable than you're giving yourself credit for. You don't need the Collective to validate your existence. You've made an impact on every member of this crew. That's your legacy.

....and all of the things he accomplished, are Grahams legacy.

I second the sentiment if you ever want a collaborator on the writing and editing I would be happy to help.
