'The Lion King' Official Teaser Trailer

Post by Nutso »

I don't understand the attraction to live action remakes of cartoons. Plus this looks CGI. I mean, of course it would be CGI. Everyone learned their lesson from 'Roar.'

No particular interest in seeing this, but then I never saw the original either.

The original, in my opinion, was the best modern Disney film by a long margin. I won't be seeing this in theaters, but I think this one has a good potential as a live/cgi film, more so than Aladdin (Trailer was in theaters a couple weeks ago, dunno when out), Mulan (In works for 2020), and the previously done Beauty and the Beast. This one has a few "scary" scenes for little kids, perhaps more than any of the other 80's/90's Disney animation films and has a potential for great suspense.

They are redoing all of the Disney movies with CGI. Sounds like they ran out of ideas for old school animation movies.

We should be glad they don't own 'Watership Down.'

There were some rather violent parts in Watership Down.

Calling Watership Down "rather violent" is a bit like calling War and Peace "rather long".

Considering it's owned by Warner Bros., this is a definite possibility. A family movie directed by Zach Snyder, slow-motion rabbit slaughter, zero subtlety, slow-motion rabbit slaughter.

Thanks for stealing my answer, mikey. :P but yeah. There's no reason to make this! You can't recreate the majesty and awe of Simba being presented again!

I would have said that there's no way to recreate Jeremy Irons reprising his great line from Reversal of Fortune - in a Disney movie of all things - but yours is good, too.

Let's take the third option and say we're both right. :D

This had a mighty box office bow. $543 worldwide. Aladdin is close to $1 billion, probably by next week. These are going to keep coming.
