I've never worked up the courage to watch Brazil based on so much of what I've read.

Yeah, "The Exorcist" sort of falls under that drama/suspense/creepy horror that "The Shining" captures too, being quite far removed from modern slasher horror. Though when I say "worked up the courage" didn't so much have to do with the concept of horror, just that it is such an oddball mix of sci-fi, satire, Pink Floyd-ian dystopia.
