New USS Horizon
New USS Horizon
Say there was a new USS Horizon built to replace the one lost in 2168 at Sigma Iota II, what class do you most likely see the new Horizon being?

Most likely the NX as its the front line vessel of the time.
But I doubt they would reuse the name again so soon.
A new ship wouldnt be built to replace it, so much as just built, they probably were going to be turning our several ships a year anyway.

What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

What makes you think that? The NX class was the front-line ship of twenty years earlier, which is more than enough time to take the shine off it. A more likely candidate would be another Daedalus, or their successors.Teaos wrote:Most likely the NX as its the front line vessel of the time.
Why not? The US named plenty of late-WW2 ships after mid-war losses. But I doubt they would reuse the name again so soon.

Agreed. I'd guess a new Daedalus-class; I don't think a part of a generation is enough for some new class to supplant the Daedalus as the frontline workhorse.Captain Seafort wrote:What makes you think that? Re: New USS Horizon
If they had to replace the Horizon right there and then, then the Daedalus class.
If not then I could see them using the name in the next generation of ship.
The Daedalus could have been a well established ship by 2168. There could have been a new ship already in the planning stage.
