Yup - this one's so bad it took Chuck a two-parter to fit all his ranting in.

Fixed. And it's probably the latter as a defence mechanism.

My biggest problem at the time I watched this episode (so 5 or 6...) was that it bored me. Even for TNG.
No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.
