Why? I'm not trying to attack your opinion, just to understand it. Personally, I thought it was a great exploration of storytelling using the sci-fi setting as a setting, rather than an story element.Tholian_Avenger wrote:I really disliked this episode.

Loved this one. I also loved his comparison/contrasting to 'Memorial'.

This review led me on a search for the music, and I think this may be my favorite rendition:

"But it doesn't have to happen again. Not if we make up our minds to change. Take a different path. Right here, right now."

I've never heard a live performance of that before. I know there was an orchestral version on CD (I have the CD) which Jay Chattaway wrote (it's the same arrangement as the one you linked to, but done in a studio rather than a live performance), which you can hear on THIS video.Sonic Glitch wrote:This review led me on a search for the music, and I think this may be my favorite rendition:

It's his opinion. An explanation would be nice, admittedly...McAvoy wrote:I think you are broken dudeTholian_Avenger wrote:I really disliked this episode.

As a child, it was one of the boring episodes.McAvoy wrote:Just a joke.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:It's his opinion. An explanation would be nice, admittedly...McAvoy wrote: I think you are broken dude
Now I find it hard to suspend disbelief, and impossible to sympathize with aliens. I think it is horrible to inflict an entire lifetime of memories on someone.
Let's take McAvoy's comment. How did this probe know its victim would be able to emotionally hold together afterwards?

It does seem a bit of a dick move, like the obilisk in Voyager.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Its not like they had other options to let someone learn about of their dead civilization.

And at the very least it wasn't broadcasting war crimes into someone's head.
