I have to vote for ye old faithful the Y wing. Sure its horrendously out of date but there's something rather....plucky about them.

They're solid enough, and got the job done when the rebels most needed them, but ultimately the Y-Wing is a Hurricane. The X-Wing is a Spitfire. 8)

I don't think SW has anything that badly conceived.

Hmmm... ok. Zahn is kinda overrated IMO. But compared to the rest of the SW writers than he much better than them.
