RIP, Neil. I guess you get to explore the true final frontier now.

Well, I think we tried very hard not to be overconfident, because when you get overconfident, that's when something snaps up and bites you.

I respected him for not whoring his fame out my getting into politics or anything really. Just a normal, extraordinary guy.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

You mean like this:
"My name is Neil Armstrong and this is my favorite store on the Citadel."

His words though:
"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

He will be remembered.

Sad to see him go. His historic step on the moon was only 22 days after I was born, so I kind of feel like I've grown up in the shadow of it in a strange way. Mum almost called me Neil, but didn't partly because quite a few of the other women in the hospital were she had me were doing the same! From what I've read he was an extraordinarily smart and talented man, and all the more impressive for how he seemed to go far out of his way to avoid any element of cashing in on what he'd done. A sad day.
Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...

One of the more telling moments for me is that while he was a loyal American and took part in the space race against the Soviets during a time of horrible political shifting. His words upon the moon were that everything done was an achievement of the Human race as a whole and not just one nation on its own. To speak honestly, I couldn't have done that.

Good on you to admit that, Deep. As for Neil, yeah. We never should've stopped going.
