Re: A new random thread
I was being sarcastic. We have a "discussion" about having to wear ties with the upper bosses from time to time. They feel it is more professional and more productive, etc etc etc. I am against wearing one. People used to consider wearing powdered wings professional as well... doesn't mean we should start doing that again...

Re: A new random thread
In all seriousness, though, what's wrong with wearing a tie? If you don't have a professional environment in your office, then I understand - but if you do, what's the problem?

It makes me feel... claustrophobic? Not sure if that's the proper term, but I feel stuffy and like the walls are closing in when I do.
Re: A new random thread
Semi similar. I do not like having the top button buttoned much less a tie on. I also usually do not button my sleeves at the wrist. It does not take long for me to start feeling... uncomfortable.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:It makes me feel... claustrophobic? We have “business casual” here. Slacks and button shirts.

Re: A new random thread
Hmm. I never minded a tie myself. But, if business casual is the accepted dress code, then I don't understand the push for neckties. (Although it wasn't too long ago that "business casual" meant sport coats or blazers and tie instead of British-tailored suits. )

Me neither.
Re: A new random thread
I rarely where a suit and tie. But I am one of those people that actually enjoy wearing the suit.
