Fan Webcomic

Post by Graham Kennedy »

I saw this webcomic posted elsewhere, and have really gotten into it.

It's the story of a Dalek civil war... pretty much every character in it is a Dalek. It's very tongue in cheek, with many, many in jokes and references to other sci-fi franchises. The tone is rather surreal... these are not your average Daleks! They have real character... the argue with one another... they tell jokes to one another... they have water cooler moments where they talk about what they saw on the news last night! There's also an absolute plethora of different styles and colours of Dalek, which helps a lot to differentiate the characters.

It's well worth a read!

Ah, Second Empire! I love this one! It's the first time I've ever cheered a Dalek on.

It is kinda crazy in that way. I remember one page in particular where the leader of the good guys, who has been going on and on about how the Daleks should retain their freedom and individuality and all that good stuff, says something about how he can't wait to see them all united again so they can get on with exterminating everybody else. They're all so normal most of the time, you can forget that it's one bunch of insane homicidal maniacs dealing with a rebellion by a very slightly less insane bunch of homicidal maniacs.

I love the Renegades have 'mandatory entertainment' and that when the Golden Emperor goes down to get Davros he passes by the New Paradigm Daleks-that he notes were failures.

Thanks for the revival, I hadn't seen this before but now I'm well into this comic :-)

Rise my zombie corpse, rise!!!!!
Yes, five exclamation marks should get my point across.

Second Empire is up to 707 pages. Only one more update remains, which may be out before "xmas". Hopefully that isn't a reference to this.
