She wasn't just 'non-utopian'. She actively tried to be as big a jerk as possible and contrarian. I really hated her guts. Racist bitch...

My problem with Pulaski wasn't that she was racist so much - McCoy was racist as hell towards Spock, after all, and he never took flak for it. Where Pulaski and McCoy differed was that McCoy was right - Spock did have emotions, and his suppression of them left him a lonely, isolated person. We the audience didn't mind McCoy's rants because we felt the same thing - the desire to see Spock break free of the constraints he put on himself.

Pulaski was a mirror image of this - she didn't criticise Data for not expressing his human side, she poo-pooed the idea that he could possibly have one, and dismissed any attempt of his to explore it. Where McCoy wanted to build Spock up to something he and we thought would be better, Pulaski wanted to tear Data down and debase him. It made her come across as a cold, nasty person.

I never had a problem with Pulaski's medical practice; in fact she seemed to do a pretty good job in her post. But for the reason Graham found, I just couldn't accept her for what she thought. Besides, I preferred Crusher's attitude.

Yes I do. And come on, that was one lady who at the time had aged very well.

She's still no Diane Lane... good Lord that woman is just permanently hot.

I don't think red works quite as well on the males of the species.

Spock could also give as good as he got-sometimes more. Data couldn't. Also, "Mister Spock is the finest first officer in the fleet." As well as being invited to Spock's wedding. They sparred, but they also had tremendous respect for one another.

Maybe its just me but as far as characters go, Pulaski just didn't really bother me that much. She had a habit of stepping out of her place as CMO and trying to boss the Ship's Captain... though it could be argued he needed a talking down from time to time.

Oh, yes. Picard needed talking down. Especially early Picard. :D

I think this is one of the reasons I didn't mind her. Generally, she picked a fight with Picard when he was being a pompous, self righteous cock and needed someone to tell him that.
