Ya know, in terms of most effective I'd have to say the commercial for Call of Duty: Black Ops. It had zero actual gameplay in it and yet it was so stinking fun the game went from "when it hits the bargin bin," to "buy it the Tuesday it's released."

Yeah, that one was awesome. Any commercial that has Jimmy Kimmel firing a rocket launcher gets my vote.

With "Proud Noob" on the side.

I think a big part of it was that it represented what's really going on. Not a bunch of special forces guys running around doing this shit, but the actual players doing it. That commercial comes on and I still watch it and smile every time.

The game's not half bad either.
