Half Life 2 Episodes One and Two?

Post by LaughingCheese »

Would anyone recommend them?

Been replaying Half Life 2 since the Highway 17 chapter.

Funny, all I really wanted to was fight some more gunships again, but it was too much fun to stop there, and from the gameplay videos the episodes look really fun too.

But I guess everyone's big question is when/if they'll get around to making a true Half Life 3???

I suppose eventually. Like 2030.

I liked Episode One, and Two was cool from what I played of it. Definitely worth playing.

The orange box in its entirety is a very, very good deal. All the HL2 + Episodes, and Portal.

All in all, you will have a minimum of 20 hours of pure entertainment with very, very little bad moments.

Cool.

And lol, I got Portal when they released it for free. :P

And yes, they're both under $20 on steam, $8 each!

Think I'll go get them. :D

Just so you know, Portal on Steam has an issue with some XP machines. No fix has been found yet.

Yes, the Orange Box is possibly the greatest DVD case full of win since KotOR.

Even if there is 50% chance of it working, the average utility potential is more than worth the money shelled out for it.

Seriously, Orange Box = Awesome Quality/Price ratio

And even if it doesn't work, since its downloaded through Steam you should be able to just redownload it once you upgrade to 7.

Episode 1 was good, but rather short. Episode 2 was great fun. Loads of variety, new enemies, and all culminating in a great battle at the very end.

If you can, pick up Portal. By far one of the most inovative and fun games I've played in a long time.

I've never had a problem with it. Well, aside from the usual Steam bullshit.

Thats why I said some. Seems to be an issue based on specific hardware items, and only with the Steam version (my guess is an issue with Steam initializing the exe). The regular CD version works fine (or so I'm told by others who have had the same problem).

Ah.

I've heard about all these issues with Steam but never had any problems myself.

Now, I've had some trouble with setting up the Source SDK but that's a 64 bit issue I think.
