PS2 disks and PC

Post by stitch626 »

Can a PS2 disk be read by a PC drive?

Heres why I ask.

A friend of mine has a lot of PS2 games that are starting to have trouble being read. They are pretty old (and a few seem to be really hard to find, or are over priced to the extreme).
He was wondering if it was possible to take the PS2 disk, copy the files onto my computer, then make a backup disk.

So here's question 2. If it can be read, would the new disk be playable in the PS2?

If it could, I could finally play the game Shadow of the Colossus I bought without checking my roomate if his PS3 could play PS2 games... :bangwall:
