High-speed elephants

This is an interesting little article

The short version is that they're running with their front feet but walking with their back feet. Wierd. :? Pretty cool that we've been able to analyse it though.

What's even more interesting is that other studies have suggested the reverse - front walking but back running. Maybe the switch over at a certain speed, or different individuals have a preference.

I wonder wether there would be a difference with African elephants.
