In a certain way I'm glad they did, before they screwed up cannon anymore.
They say that in the Army,
the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,

Um, really? Wasn't Spock clearly stated to be the first Vulcan in Starfleet? BUT WAIT!!!! Starfleet gave a commission to T'Pol, thus making HER the first Vulcan in Starfleet.
