Best commanding officer?

Post by Sionnach Glic »

Something that occured to me while watching some of the older episodes on T.V.
Who do you think was the most effective leader of the Stargate series?

Oh, definitely Jack-on account of I haven't seen these other two yet. And that Jack is... Jack. And the Asgard named a ship after him!

Jack was the best IMHO. He was not just the best, but I felt the most realistic of the commanders. He never seemed to be a super genius who always knew what the right thing to do was. In many series the lead character too often seems to know what to do. Jack on the other hand would often rely on his team for help. That's one of the things I loved about the series, there was actual teamwork involved. And that they would often make mistakes. He also kind of reminded me of an older Kirk.

Yeah... I'd have to say Jack, too. :)

But, then, he's been around longer.

Sheppard would be next. Then, Mitchell.

Jack O'Neill. Not only is he one of the best characters on the show and the funniest, he's also believeable. You believe this guy has served in the military for awhile and has been on some hellish missions and had some hellish experiances. And yet, despite the obvious dark past he's had, he's one of the funniest characters who gives every episode a since of humour. This guy simply rocks.

I was talking more about team leaders than actual generals.
