Re: ST:XI Predictions Thread
Not sure if anyone thought of this, but I bet that Earth is destroyed at the beginning of this film, possible after Romulus, and Spock somehow alters the current timeline, causing the new and divergent timeline. What do you think?

um yes, it makes sense if you read recent interviews from JJ Abrams, and the scenes of the Narada firing on San Francisco, certainly begs the question.

For all we know, that could be a dream sequence

He makes a good point. 24th century Earth may well be destroyed.

Spock on acid trip... its original.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

But it seems to be 23rd century San Francisco that gets fired upon, judging by the Starfleet Academy picture here.

YES!
You shoot at ships and they break apart. And even lower end computers could handle it.
