idk, it's probably possable, but GK and Ian get the forum from another site wich has their own template. (I've seen the same forum on other sites)

I'd pretty much figured most of them out other than the sticky one as well, but I thought I'd ask.

Even though I find LCARS systems to be difficult to read, it may fit a trek site to have a forum styled in this way.
Basically, you'd have to have Ian write an entirely new GUI and forum management processes. And I meant that to indicate a whole lot more work than it sounds like. Plus, it would require constant overwatch, rather than farming it out.

Under "links" from the main site, you cn find an LCARS-styled 'Trek database. The content is shoddy, but the site is pretty.

Yeah, that'd not only take way too much effort, but be very much more difficult to navigate.

I suppose it would be easy enough to make LCARS-style graphics to simply slot into the place of the current ones, though. I did design and draw the buttons we use now myself; replacing them is pretty easy. I don't know how effective the overall look would be though.

I can produce a style that looks fairly much as I wish, but it's a lot of effort. This layout is a recoloured version of the 'standard' phpBB3 setup.

Plus, wouldn't an LCARS display slow things down quite a bit?

Oh, I always thought the enhanced graphics and all of that would slow it down. Mainly because that LCARS site is so slow whenever I've checked it out.

You don't have to use graphics for a lot of things. For example this forum is using round cornered boxes all over the place, however, it's not using huge graphics to make it work.

To be honest, I think it would clutter up the page and reduce visibility/ease of reading for the forum.

I agree. The current set up is simple and easy to use. I see no need to change it.
