I've been thinking of picking them up. Are they any good?

They really are more then worth the buy. I have all of them and had trouble putting each one down until I was finished. It was as gripping to read and Dune Messiah.

After we finish the write up on Exo-squad would anyone like to help put together a write up on the fleets of Halo?

If you read the first 3 then you'll have a pretty good know how about their fleets.

I do not remember excessive discussion about the space ships though. Once they got onto Halo... Wait, was the first book all about the ships and then right at the end they wormholed to Halo? That was a long time ago...

Thats right, you're thinking about "The Fall of Reach" and they do put a good bit of detail into the ships for that book.

Okay, I read:
The Fall of Reach
First Strike
The Flood

I own but have not read:
Ghosts of Onyx

I did not know about:
Contact Harvest

If I remember correctly, Halo did not come into the story until the very end of the 2nd book (last pages) and then the 3rd book takes place on Halo. Right?

The "Ghosts of Onyx" was a great book. Right up there with "Fall of Reach". Those two are the best of the five, but all of them are good.
