Will power is what built the British Empire over the power of Europe. Will power is what allowed the US to resist the British Empire for nearly forty years between conflicts and disputes. Will power is again what allowed England to survive the German blitz of WWII long enough for the US to bring its will power to bare in the war.

Delenn and her mentor touched on it in the movie as well. Where humans seemed to keep fighting even when they had no chance to win. You see the Minbari are largely just going through the motions. They started a war and they don't know what they can do or say to end it.

I only saw a Hyperion fire its weapons during that ambush. Can you find a screen cap?

I think you give the Minbari too much credit. They were committing a war of genocide because they lost a their leader. If the Minbari wanted revenge they should seeked out the base destroy it to make a point but they kept on going. Earth stood no chance yet they kept on going.

The Minbari stealth systems that didn't allow enemy ships to target their ships while useful, how hard was it to manually target. I mean use old fashioned technology like scopes and the mk. 1 eyeball. B5 battles did not seem fight at long distances where this would be an issue. But I guess it was a combination of slow targeting and have an issue on penetrating the armor.

You under estimate the power of religious and personal rage. When combined there really isn't anything that will put it to pause.

Manual targeting is possible, but only if you can see the target. In the show we see ships that are mile long or high targets little more then specs at times. Some of the battles lasted for just a few seconds. However we also see that Earth ships got close enough to ram and by the end of the war had delayed the Minbari advance for over two years. Its pretty clear that EF was fighting back and thus inflicting losses somewhere, just not in a meaningful enough manner to change the outcome of the war.

As to armor, a few shots from a Hyperion managed to knock out the Minbari flagship. Their armor isn't that impressive. However just about every shot that the Minbari landed equaled a kill shot so really it came down to who could hit first. The Minbari clearly commanded that end of the war.

It was technically a religious war on the side of the Minbari... so logic plays no role.

Compilation of battle footage from In The Beginning
The Black Star Ambush starts at 1:47. No Nova broadside.

You're right, Nova was taken out in the vortex and it was a pair of Hyperions firing.
