Season 1

Post by Mark »

Well, I was cruising another used book and video store last night and scored Bab 5 seasons one and two. I shall continue my broadening my sci fi horizons :D

the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,
and walk like Frankenstein.

B5 ruled, until they wrapped up the main storyline at the end of S3.

IMO, of course.

I think you mean at the end of season 4.

Yeah the arc ended in S4, leaving S5 kind of weak IIRC.

Which was the one they ended the Shadow war in? 3 or 4? I honestly don't recall.

After that, the other conflicts on the show lacked any real importance, IMO.

Shadow War ends in Season 4. "Now GET THE HELL OUT OF OUR GALAXY, both of you!"
"Bible, Wrath of Khan, what's the difference?"

I adore that bit. Its the first time Delenn actually does something useful without the weird hypnospeech.

Delenn: [Delenn's fleet arrives after Earth Alliance attacks B5] This is Ambassador Delenn of the Minbari. Babylon 5 is under our protection. Withdraw or be destroyed!
Earth Force Officer: Negative! We have authority here. Do not force us to engage your ship.
Delenn: Why not? Only one human captain has ever survived battle with a Minbari Fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be somewhere else

[Earthforce fleet run like hell]

I loved that scene, if the only thing you understand is force of arms then the Minbari will be able to persuade you.

The Minbari are just awesome in the "We persuade you" area.

I'm halfway through B5 season one, and I have to say, I remember it being alot better than it is now. Commander Sinclair has absolutely no personality and seems to be a one dimesional character. Lt. Cmdr Ivoniva seems to have the personality of a machine (hell, Data was more likeable) and a seeming habit of breaking rules because HEY, she's the XO. The only character I like is Security Chief Garibaldi.

Is the entire damned show going to be kissing the asses of a bunch of whiney diplomats???

I VAUGLY remember that they will be getting a new commanding officer soon, and something about some mysterious badguys. Here's hoping things pick up.

The one episode would be that one annoying guy that keeps asking "What do you want?". Always smiling, always cheerful, and makes you want to slap him and his B plot antics. The raider plot at the end was more enjoyable.

Yes, I have seen and own the series.
