Favourite ship?

Post by Sionnach Glic »

Self-explanatory. What ship do you like most from the B5-verse, and why?

Despite its obvious design flaws, I'm going to go with the Omega-class destroyers. They looked great, and packed a hell of a punch.

I like the Centari Vorchan attack cruiser, not the most powerful but it looks nice and has powerful main cannons. I tend to think ogf it as a Galor type ship but not necessarily lagging behind other races in tech (well at least till the whole Shadow/ Vorlon tech stuff got out to every tom dick and harry) but still lethal in small groups and very quick.

The Vorchan's were good ships, even if they were horrendously overpowered in my view.
I preferred the Primus over the Vorchan personally but thats just me.

I love the White Stars above all. The Minbari cruisers and the Warlock-class cruisers were nice, too. And, the Excalibur.

1. The Vree "Xill-class" Saucer. Seeing them just hover above Shadow fighters and take them out with ease was awesome. The Xorr types aren't as cool though. I don't like the cannons on top of the saucer on those.
2. Shadow Battlecrab. That thing just looked scary.
3. Earth Alliance Badger-Class Fighter, AKA the ones we see from Day One.

There is a scene in the newest movie that shows a "possible" future where a group of Vorchan's destroy EA Warlocks in an attack, I'm not trying to say they're any where near on par ship on ship but in the scene they're like the Cardie's, more to make up for the lack of individual ship ability.
Plus they look cool.

In case you folks haven't found it the best resource for B5 stuff is..

I've never been much interested in B5, but from general sci-fi browsing I've heard a llot of good things about BabTech.

They're both good in their own ways.
B5tech is, like DITL, a great site for looking up info on the ships and races. but I'm a little suspicious of their calcs.
Babtech is better if you want calcs, but has little to no info on the races and ships.

Same here. Nice, simple layout and lots of easy to access info.

yes. and most of the ships have a clear and discernable picture. Plus easy to read statistics. and good lengthy descriptions.
