I just got through watching Genesis of the Daleks. Hands down my fave Doctor Who story, but boy does the Doctor bugger everything up :)

Yeah. Admittedly you're talking to someone who wants the Joker to eat lead... and a chainsaw... and explosives. And the Daleks make him look sane!

I can see where The Doctor is coming from. He has seen the good that comes from the Daleks. Alien races who would otherwise be murdering each other by the billions have instead united against a common enemy. I would destroy the fledgling Daleks, but I don't have The Doctor's understanding of the good that came from the Daleks' existence throughout history. I live in the now. Not the past, present, or future like a Time Lord can. I don't have his perspective.

The Doctor's perspective is precisely what should have led him to wipe the Daleks out at the first opportunity. He even had it pointed out to him by the CIA guy who redirected the transmat beam to Skaro - the Daleks have the means and to motive to obliterate all other life in the universe, and the indications are that they'd succeed. Two, Seven and Eight all recognised the scale of the Dalek threat, and did their utmost to end it. It's unfortunate that Four hesitated when presented with the best opportunity any of the incarnations to do so.

Yeah. The species might be at war with each other... or would almost certainly be exterminated by the Daleks. He should've touched the wires, grabbed a flamethrower and gone to town inside there.
