Finally had a chance to watch.

So, for a few moments, Rory was the luckiest companion in history? :laughroll:

'Pond flirting with herself. True love at last. Oh sorry Rory'

'Absolutely no problem at all'

Hmm. I'll have to watch those, we didn't get them on BBC-A. However, this:
Pond flirting with herself.
Sounds like it could easily be the intro to a dream which I wouldn't share with you all.

I happen to find Karen Gillan surpassingly yummy.

*UPDATE* OK, I don't know what a "Red Nose Day" is, but I heartily support it.

"I'd give you a license."
"I bet you would."

Red Nose Day is a major charity thing that is held once a year. People all over the country arrange charity events, and the BBC pretty much turns itself over to it for the evening. Many, many stars of TV turn up to do skits, sketches, little one-off versions of well known shows, auction stuff off, or whatever else will get the public to give money. It's called Red Nose Day because it's got a comedy theme, and the first one used red clown noses in a "buy one to show you care, proceeds to charity" way. Since then some variation of red noses have featured each year.

Ah, I half-guessed it might have something to do with alcohol. Whatever it is, anything that even hints of Karen Gillan-Karen Gillan GG action gets my support.

Yes, drinking causes a flush, most pronounced on the nose. Habitual drinkers often have a characteristic chronic red nose.

It's what the Gin Blossoms kinda named themselves after, as 'gin blossom' is a slang term for it.

In all seriousness, they do seem to be ramping up the sexuality levels an awful lot. Bear in mind that Doctor Who is a primetime family show. Bear in mind that this one was a charity special. And yet the plot points where :

* Amy asks the Doctor if they can talk and he instantly yells for Rory because he thinks she's after him.
* Amy "I didn't wear a skirt" - implied that she took her test semi naked.
* But she actually passed because she had a SHORT skirt and her tester was staring at her legs.
* Rory messed up the repairs because he was looking up Amy's skirt
* Two Amy Ponds, Rory instantly wants a threesome.
* Amy flirting with herself. Is that lesbian masturbation?!

Okay some of it was subtle and implied, but it's still there. Not that I'm complaining, just noticing what seems to be a trend.

It's not unprecedented. Terminus? Planet of Fire?

I some respects, yes. Nicola Bryant in a bikini for the entire episode, or Peter Davison getting upstaged in his regeneration scene in Caves of Androzani was far more blatant than anything here. As you say, it's mostly subtle and implied.

From the perspective of an American viewer, this seems a lot more like American-style suggestiveness rather than anything blatant. Louise Jameson dressed far more suggestively than Karen Gillan; and the intimations in these "eps" seemed pretty commonplace for someone accustomed to American prime-time TV. I find it odd that you notice it at all, GK; bear in mind that while America may seem like the capital of decadence to most of the world, you guys are a lot freer with blue language and nudity than any non-premium American programming.
