Not saying the Fed player will just steam roll us all, just saying I'd like more than their assurance that they're swell guys as to why they won't.

S'why non agression packs, and if all else fails a heavily fortified border are essential. As much as the Feds have a huge fleet, they also have a huge area of space, it will take time for fleets to cross it.

Germany and Russia had a non-aggression pact back in 1941. Russia trusted it and a year later had Nazi tanks in spitting distance of Moscow.

I'm pretty happy with Cardassia, just leaves the Breen to worry about mostly.

Interesting...I don't think they have a very strong fleet to be fair.

I don't want to give too much away, but the Breen in the other sim had a pretty good starting point, in terms of strength.

The key thing will be updating the fleet, or RnD'ing new ships. Maybe buy a load from the Fed player. if only to fortify the border.

Do what Mark did, be it to the Feds or the Klingons but try and get weapons tech or ship designs from either of them. Not only are they more capable, but they are generally quite small and so are easy to build and cheap to maintain. The Defiant is the epitome of this, as its already a large leap in ability compared to the Galor or keldon.

Reliant121 wrote:Also Tyyr, the democratic nations such as the CU and the UFP have to answer to a council which is generally speaking controlled by the GM. If the GM thinks that so and so's executive decisions are not fair, or peaceful etc. enough or it doesnt have a justifiable reason, then the Council can veto the executive decisions of a leader. The RSE, KE, BC etc. are all autocratic (for the purposes of the game anyway) and so have little opposition to their decision making.
The CU didn't start as a democracy, and Tyyr isn't a democracy (yet) if he chooses to be one at all.

Also on most ship numbers I did change, them, I'm not saying if they went up or down, but I modified them a little based off of how I thought the situation would have gone. i.e. Big had one fleet size for the Romulans, but also underplayed the whole coup, so I modified some stuff. Not enough to dramatically change starting positions, but enough to make sure that everyone is still clueless about what everyone has even after looking at our game.
