Oil up your chainswords, my friends!

I've got to start paying more attention to the announcements from E3. Grimdark - from the comfort of your own home! WH40k MMORPG, coming in a couple years (give or take.)
Peep it.

It looks better, IMHO, than the trailers for the Ultramarines movie - especially the sentinels - and seems like it will allow players to play units from the IoM and (judging by the blurb on the site) Chaos. Rumor from E3 also has it that Eldar and Orks may also be playable races.

I've said it before. If I can play a Sororitas they can take $15 a month from my bank account until the servers shut down.

I didn't see a SoB - IG, SM, AdMech... chances are there will be all sorts of focus group input and tweaks before it comes out, though. Even if not, I'm sure there will be some freeware skin or something to roll up an Astartes and skin it to be a SoB.

Yeah, but skinning in an MMORPG is iffy. Sure, I'll look like a SoB but to everyone else I'm that weirdo space marine who insists he's a Sororitas.

I'd probably go IG if there's no SoBs.

So? There's a reason for the "O" in MMORPG.

Uhhh, yeah. That's exactly why. If this wasn't an online game I'd skin it in a heartbeat. If there was no RPG on the end and it was just about running around blowing shit up I'd do it in a heart beat. Since it's an RPG and I'm going to be interacting with people I'd rather not have to explain every damn time I talk someone that while I look like a Dark Templar I'm actually a Sororitas.

Well, supposedly there's a 3rd-person brawler/shooter console game coming out soon, too. But that's another good point - I'm heartened to see this featuring Black Templars rather than Ultrasmurfs.

Ah son-of-a-bitch. And here I just managed to kick the warcrack addiction at the start of the year.

Warcraft was easy for me to kick. To me it was just a boring grind of "run here and press left mouse key". Then repeat several thousand times.

Aha. Creatively titled "Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine," it's for XBox, PS3, and PC, and will probably be out in the first part of next year. Maybe they'll add it for the PS Move - actually slamming that thunder hammer down through an ork skull would be inordinately satisfying. Peep it.

I hope they do better then they did on Firewarrior.

Please let them get rid of the recoil on the guardsmen firing fucking lasguns.

Hell, I'd like to see them just fix the weapons overall. In W40K-FW they couldn't figure out one end of the scale to the next.

I hope there won't be recoil on both Lasguns AND boltguns.

Nor on missile thrower.

I am sooo gonna play I.G.. Although I have, like, no idea whatsoever what are gonna be the available classes. You think with the IG will play a little like the Minions Master?

If you don't , then they will have the balance seriously off. You should need an entire IG platoon to have a chance of killing a Space Marine. Mind you that's just a chance, and not a good one.
