Need Help Creating A SM Chapter

I really have no idea where to put this, so apologies in advance.

I'm toying with my own Loyalist SM Chapter, a kind of Search and Rescue focused Chapter based outside the Segmentum Obscurus. I have a basic organization worked out (their not a Codex Chapter) but I'm hung up on the name. I want them to recruit mainly from Ice Worlds and Bears will figure prominently in their iconography and traditions but I have no idea what the heck to name them.

Any ideas?

What legion are they originally descended from? Or are they a unique one?

We have a winner.

I might actually get into the miniatures for this.

Well thats a better colour scheme then I had come up with. I was going with white and gray but that painter is very frustrating to use.

Really? Tried the version 5.0 Beta? I just get a couple colors I like then copy/paste them around the marine.

Oh, and an insignia:

That is pretty awesome.

And cause this seems a good a place as any to put down my rough OoB and because I've decided to start on the models with this as my Chapter:

Rough OoB Ghost Bears:

-Chapter divided into a single company (First Company) and twenty Demi-Companies (roughly half the size of a regular Company)
-Demi Company consists of 7 six man squads and 1 eight man scout squad (total: 50 marines). With seven Razorbacks and one Rhino.
-Each regular squad contains: Sgt, Apothecary, Heavy Weapon x1 and three regular marines w/bolter.

More to follow.

It's a direct rip off of a Battletech Clan. When you said ice world and bear iconography, bingo. They're also rather Scandinavian in flavor.

Hey, I have no problem mining crappier franchises for ideas. ;)

So how close to the fluff is the TT game, I get that it is balanced to stop SM's and such utterly raping the Guard but how much does it hamper issuing kit and such?

Hey now!

WH40K's balance? The TT reflects a fairly codex organization. If you go off the reservation you can do as you please.

I absolutely love Battle Tech. I think the Ghost Bears are perfect for you. They are a very family based clan. Mothers, fathers, bothers and sisters all serving together. They also prize working in small groups which is good for your SARTs idea.

With that revelation I think I'll make it a common practice for brothers to be inducted and serve together, kind of hard to work fathers in there unless they offer free IVF or something to the locals but stranger things happen in the Imperium.
