...and in other news... BFD. It's common knowledge that the orientation of the Earth's axis is in constant flux anyway. The axis of Earth's rotation is wobbly, such that both the "true" (not magnetic) north and south poles constantly shift in a circular motion.

The quote could have been clearer wrt the reference hemisphere for the stated seasons. However, it is a well-known fact that the Earth's orbit is not perfectly circular and that the distance between Sol and the Earth varies continuously; though I'm not an astrophysicist I may speculate that there may be a very slight change in Earth's rotational speed associated with these orbital mechanics.
